If you could go B2B with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Such a hard question but it would have to be Kerri Chandler! I’m in awe of his craft and I never go a set without spinning one of his classic tunes, from ‘Bar A Thym’ to ‘Let It Flow’ he continues to deliver tracks that have the power to move your heart! I also love how much he supports up and coming talent in the scene whilst oozing a wealth of knowledge and pure soul.
How do you like to relax after a long weekend?
I love to go on long walks with my lil pup Bailey, he brightens the rainiest of days and reminds me to practice patience and gratitude, finding joy in the little things together.
What was the first record you ever bought, and does it still influence your music today?
It was a long time ago but I remember specifically going to buy the self named debut album from Corrine Bailey Rae in Woolworths! It was 2006, I was 10 years old and I bought it with my pocket money. I still listen to it to find stillness in busy times, ‘Just Like A Star’ will always be my favourite track on that album. I do think it inspired me to see someone that looked like me doing her thing in an industry I was yet to understand!
How has your music style evolved throughout your career?
It started off very jazzy, electronic neo soul with elements of house, but once I started to DJ I was really inspired by club tracks and artists I admired and the power of those tunes on the dance floor. I started experimenting with more deep and classic house sounds but still holding onto the soulfulness which is the sound you hear today.
If you could describe DJing in one feeling or emotion, what would it be?
Euphoria! It’s a massive release of all emotions of life.
Biggest moment of 2024 so far?
Playing Hi Ibiza with Patrick Topping and DJ Boring! An incredible night of music and I always learn so much about how far I can push my sound in a super club like Hi, whilst introducing audiences to soundscapes they might not be familiar with, it’s fun seeing people stick with me for the journey.
If you could play one song to everyone in the world, what song would it be?
Life Will Be by Cleo Sol. This track has guided me along my way since I was introduced to it by a dear friend of mine.
