French electronic producer Fakear has carved out a unique space in the global music scene with his ethereal, beat-driven soundscapes blending world influences, deep bass, and dreamy melodies. Fresh off the success of his 2023 album Talisman and a celebrated Boiler Room set, he continues to push sonic boundaries. Known for tracks like La Lune Rousse and Morning in Japan, his music bridges organic and electronic elements with hypnotic ease. We sat down to talk all things music, touring, inspirations and whats next:

What is one piece of music that still inspires you ?

I think I'll be forever inspired by Bonobo's Black Sands, released in 2010. That was the album that ultimately pushed me to make the music I make today.

If you could go B2B with any DJ dead or alive, who would it be?

I'd absolutely love a B2B with Four Tet, the freedom he has is fascinating to me, he pushes the limits of what's cool.

What is your must have item when you’re on tour?

Something I can play video games on. It has always been my go-to when things are too intense - touring is hella intense !

What are your earliest memories of London?

One of my first memories is in Ninja Tune's office, I was playing some of my new demos to the team. They offered me some vinyls on my way out, it was like a dream. I was 24 years old, and never have dreamed of a moment like that with these legends.

What is one genre people would be surprised to learn that you love?

Haha country / folk music. I'm a big fan of Phoebe Bridgers and more recently, Waxahatchee. I also love jungle, but it's less surprising I suppose.

What is one track that you’ll reach for when you play XOYO?

I almost exclusively play my own songs when djing, some new stuffs and old ones remixed specially for the occasion. But I want to play the remix from Bad Raiders of the song Body Move, by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs so bad, I found it amazingly weird.
